NEWS:

Bachué performed their last ever gig on Wednesday 23rd August 2006 in Edinburgh. After eleven years the band decided to call it a day. Consistently described by critics as “ground-breaking”, “original” and “unique”, Bachué have enjoyed over a decade of innovative music-making in the vanguard of the diverse and vibrant Scottish music scene.

Corrina Hewat and David Milligan, the band’s linchpins and founding members, would like to devote more time to their individual projects, and pursue some new musical ventures, as well as concentrate on directing the ‘folk-orchestra’ The Unusual Suspects.

Individually, their current projects include Corrina’s duo with Kathryn Tickell plus the vocal trio with Karine Polwart & Annie Grace, while David’s include his jazz trio, the Colin Steele Quintet and the Simon Thoumire & David Milligan duo.

Corrina and David have released this statement in August 2006:

“It was a difficult decision to make as we’ve loved every minute of Bachué, and all the musicians we’ve worked with over the years, but we both feel it’s time to move on to new things.

We’d like to apologise for the short notice, but our gig on Wednesday 23rd August will be our last, and we'd like to give our fans, who have been supporting us and coming to concerts throughout the years, an opportunity to come along for the last time to hear us at our best!”

The line up for their farewell gig was:

Corrina on vocals & Camac Aziliz acoustic harp
& Camac Electroharp
David on Electric piano
Donald Hay on drums
Colin Steele on trumpet
